Let’s Get Those Frame Rates Right

You may have noticed that due to a recent Windows Update or a Graphics driver update, frame rates on certain games drop intermittently, even though you possess a PC with high specifications. Not to worry : There is an easy fix for this and I am going to share it with you.

  1. Go to Control Panel.
  2. Then click on “Hardware and Sound”.
  1. Click on “Power Options” and then on “Change Plan Settings”.
  1. After that click on “Change advanced power settings.
  1. Then scroll down and click on “Processor Power Management” and then on “Maximum Processor State” and change the value in “Plugged In” from 100% to 99%. Finally click on “OK”.

Hooray ! You will no longer get random drops in frame rates. In case if you start getting them back, just change the fan profile to “Overboost” or something similar.

Hope this helps.

Call of Duty Players Rejoice : Advanced Warfare Multiplayer isn’t Dead !

I know that most people say that Call of Duty : Advanced Warfare Multiplayer is dead. When you try to find matches, you will probably get the screen with “No games found” as shown below:

Well, the reason for this is skill-based matchmaking (The method used to find players for matches based on skill), which is different from that used in Modern Warfare or Infinite Warfare.

Now there is a way to join lobbies in the PC version and that is to find Steam Groups (Please note that you can only find matches which fall under Team Deathmatch category most of the time). It’s a bit like “stalking”.

Please follow the procedure given below:

  1. Double-click on Steam icon on the taskbar.
  2. Hover the cursor to your Steam name.
  3. Click on “GROUPS” and then on “Browse groups”
  4. Under “Search for community groups”, type the names of the groups given below one at a time.
  5. Click on “Join Group”.
  6. Finally, click on a player name who is playing Advanced Warfare and then click on “Join Game”.

The following are some popular groups where Advanced Warfare players can be found :

  • keeping advanced warfare alive
  • COD AW Standard [TM8]
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Multiplayer

Hope you will be able to find some matches. Have fun !
